Spring/Summer 2026 Newsletter
It’s hard to believe we’re already this far into 2026. The Friends of Historic Boonville have been busy these past few months.
New officers and board members were elected during our first board meeting of the year. President: Phillip Bechtold; Vice President Megan Thieman; Secretary: Kim Pirtle and Treasurer Irl Tessendorf. Christa Russell and Van Nixon are our new board members who were elected at the November 2025 membership meeting.
Winter/Spring 2025 Newsletter
PresidentThe Friends of Historic Boonville have had a packed schedule the past fewmonths. We had a full house for a wonderful concert presented by the BoonvilleCommunity Chorus under the direction of Dr. Claude Westfall with the help of NancyWard, accompanist. The Boonville Historic Homes Tour was a smashing success. Lotsof support and participation created a great opportunity for residents and tourists to seeBoonville’s beautiful residences.
Fall 2025 Newsletter
The 50th Missouri River Festival of the Arts was a spectacular success! A great Art Show, three superb concerts, and a sold out Saturday performance, featuring the Festival Orchestra and renown conductor Leonard Slatkin. Thanks to the Festival Committee, the Friends board members, patrons, and the volunteers that worked so hard to make it possible. Planning begins this month as we look forward to the 51st in 2026.
Spring/Summer 2025 Newsletter
If you’ve not seen Thespian Hall the past few weeks, there’s a lot going on. Thanks to our successful fundraising dinner on February 8, wood repair is completed and painting has begun on the exterior of Thespian Hall. We owe a huge thanks to Benjamin Moore Paints and Tabitha Greis at RicMar for their donation of the paint for this huge job! In addition, a hardworking crew of community volunteers and members of the Boonville Silver Pirate Band completed the clean out of the third floor of Thespian Hall.
Fall 2024
The 49th Missouri River Festival of the Arts had a great art show, successful bike ride, and three superb concerts. Patron and donor support set a record and ticket sales are up, but we are not resting! The committees started meeting the week after the Festival Finale to plan for the 50th MRFA, August 20-23, 2025. We will have a special lineup of performers and artists to commemorate the anniversary of one of the longest running music festivals in Missouri.
