The Missouri River Festival of the Arts is ready to take the stage in Thespian Hall on August 21-24, 2024, for our 49th year of outstanding performances.
Artistic Director David Halen has recruited a superb group of musicians and selected wonderful repertoire for the Missouri River Festival Orchestra.
Thursday, August 22: “Color and Light” The Missouri River Festival String Octet perform the works of Bruch and Tchaikovsky. Jimmie Herrod, vocal soloist (America’s Got Talent-Golden Buzzer and Mo-Town performance), brings his exciting mix of pop and jazz to open the Festival!
Friday, August 23: “Kaleidoscope” MRF String Ensemble will feature the works of Borodin and Corelli. Violin Virtuoso, Helen Kim, is back to play Zigeunerweisen’s technical masterpiece, “Sonata #4.” The Patron Reception will follow the concert at the Mercantile, 505 Main Street.
Saturday, August 24: “Journey Through the Seasons” The Missouri Festival of the Arts String Orchestra performs Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3” and “Air on a G String.” Violin soloists, Helen Kim, Hannah Ji, Nathan Larry and David Halen will be featured artists in Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.” The Festival Finale will follow the concert at the Mercantile, 505 Main Street.
Wednesday, August 21: You are cordially invited to join us for the Visual Art Exhibit and Reception from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Hain House, 412 4th Street. This year we welcome featured artist Eric Ordway, whose work will also be on display from 6:30-7:15 pm prior to each evening performance and Saturday from 12:00 pm-7:15 pm at the Hain House.
